Nam Go West
Conveniently
located near One North MRT at Timbre+ , a cool place with consolidation of some
unique and reasonable priced eateries. It is a good place to have lunch,
dinner, chilling after work with good food and beer or simply to take away food
at Nam Nam Go Express.
Nam
Nam Go Express is an express concept brought to you NEW (just 2 weeks old) by
the Annam Group which started and own Nam Nam Noodle Bar and Connam Vietnamese
Street Eats.
All
the ingredients are carefully selected by the dedicated chef and imported from
Vietnam. Also it is healthy Vietnamese cuisines as there is NO MSG added.
On
Nam Nam Go’s menu you will find the best seller of Nam Nam noodle bar + Innovative
NEW creations that you can only find at Nam Nam Go.
Although
it is house in a repurposed caravan and the kitchen look rather small, but the
selections on the menu are rather sufficient.
You don’t have a feeling that there is lack of choices for your lunch or
dinner.
There
are small plates, such as various types of steam / fried Vietnamese spring
rolls, Salad, Crispy Chicken bites / wings and fried squid etc. There are Hanoi
Pho, Fragrant Rice, Vietname noodles, Banh Mi (Vietnamese Baguette), Viet
Deserts and concoction of rather tasty and refreshing beverages.
Nothing
on the menu is above $10 except for the shaking beef at $11.90. I am very impressed with the quality of the
food and portion provided at that price.
I can fill my table to the max, with variety of sumptuous food without
burning a hole in my pocket.
To
hi-light a few items from Nam Nam Go’s Menu:
The
Must try Banh Mi (Vietnamese Baguette ) that comes with various fillings such
as , vegetarian, chilli-lemongrass chicken / pork, caramelized pork belly etc.
The Vietnamese baguette that is usually airier than its Western counterpart,
with a thinner crust, unlike the traditional French baguette. The one at Nam
Nam Go is precisely that, airy and crispy.
Chilli-Lemongrass Chicken, Egg Omelette,
Chicken Floss Banh Mi $6.90
The Mango
used in Tangy Mango & Guava Salad is not too sour, which I like. Compliment by the fresh prawn, fish sauce and
crispy assorted cracker makes this a very good appetizer to start the meal
with.
Tangy
Mango & Guava Salad, Prawns, Pork & Assorted Crackers $6.90
For
only $8.90 you get a Pork Two Ways Vermicelli, Mekong Prawn Roll. There are thick slices of grilled pork and
pork belly inside the bowl and you will find Mekong Prawn Roll in the sweet and
sour sauce, which you can either dip your Vermicelli into the sauce like how
you eat the Japanese Tsuke Ramen or you can pour the entire bowl of sauce into
the Vermicelli bowl, whichever way it’s equally delicious. I choose to pour the
entire bowl of sauce in.
Pork
Two Ways Vermicelli, Mekong Prawn Roll $8.90
Another
Vermicelli that I like is the Hanoi Fried Tilapa fillets with Galangal, Turmeric,
Dill Vermicelli. As there are Vietnamese spices used in this dish, it will be
more acquired tastes. If you wanted to try some really authentic Vietnamese
spices and taste or that you like fish.
This is the dish for you. This is
a Vermicelli that does not comes with the usual Vietnamese Sweet and Sour
sauce, the vermicelli has a very like herbal taste and the juicy big and thick
cut Tilapa fillets are marinated with Turmeric.
Hanoi
Fried Tilapa fillets with Galangal, Turmeric, Dill Vermicelli $8.90
If
you just feel like chilling with a couple of beer at Timbre+ and need some beer
food. I highly recommend you to try Nam
Nam Go’s Caramelized Crispy Chicken Wings.
The batter used to fry the wings is not too thick yet it is very crispy
and for me, I personally like anything sweet, with honey or caramelized. Hence,
I will go back again and order 1 dozen of these wings for myself only.
Caramelized
Crispy Chick Wings $5.90 for 3 pcs
The
below beer is not from Nam Nam Go but I would like to briefly mentioned it. The
Bottle Shop has a rotating beer and cider menu of close to 200 different types
of drinks from around the world.
This
means, at any one time you visit the Bottle Shop, there are at least 120 beers
and ciders Their in-house beer nerd is constantly populating this menu so check
in regularly for updates
Some
of the beers they carry are rather unique.
Various

As
you know that some Vietnamese food have the influence of the French Colony,
hence, Nam Nam Go have Steak and Fries.
It is named Shaking beef here because of the way it is shake in the wok.
This dish is served on a sizzling hot plate with thick cut fries for only
$11.90

Beef, Pepper Hoisin Sauce, Thick Cut Fries $11.90
For
a sweet tooth person like me, dessert is a must after lunch or dinner. For warm
dessert, I recommend the Trio of Crispy Netted Rolls (Jackfruit, Purple Sweet
Potatoes & Cassava) with coconut sauce $5.
For
cold dessert and ice cream fans, the Che Sweet Sticky Rice, Coconut Ice Cream,
Peanut $6 is for you.
There
are also beverages like the lime sparkling, lemongrass ginger ice tea, passion-
soursop sparkling, honey-kamquat sparkling, salted caramel banana iced coffee
and pandan-red bean iced milk tea. All look interesting to me and I will go
back to try all on the list.

All
the prices mentioned above are nett
This
is my first visit to Timbre+ and the overall experience was awesome with great
